Megan Fox’s Queen Amidala Manicure Is Not Canon, But It’s Incredible — See Photos

We’re sensing a theme with celebrity Halloween costumes this year: spectacularly accurate execution with the exception—or shall we say wonderful addition—of fantastic nail art. Take Saweetie for example. She wore a damn near perfect Joker costume, but it was still very her because of the bedazzled, pointy nails. And Megan Fox took it a step further by making sure her Queen Amidala manicure went perfectly with her costume’s aesthetic.

Anyone who knows every last detail of Star Wars movies can tell you that Natalie Portman did not wear ornate nail art when she played Queen Amidala. When dressed in what is arguably her most iconic and memorable look—the throne room gown—a close look reveals that she’s wearing shimmery white polish. But when Megan Fox recreated the look with stunning precision for Halloween, she took some liberties when imagining what could have been the queen’s manicure had she had access to nail artist Brittney Boyce.

“We loved the makeup for this look so much we had to incorporate it into the nail art,” Boyce tells Allure, referring to the look’s red and white geometric elements. Boyce used a glossy, red on Megan’s subtly pointed, almond-shaped nails—specifically The Gel Bottle’s Holly. She painted a white stripe down the middle with The Gel Bottle’s Gelpot White, and each stripe meets a red rhinestone, inspired by the dots on her cheeks.
